Registering a room
Unregistered rooms exist only as long as there's at least one user in it: they are disposed of as soon as everybody leaves. Registered rooms, however, persist on the server and will keep their room-specific settings.
If you're the first logged in user in a given room, you will be given the option to register that room and become its owner. An owner may freely change the room's modes as well as appoint moderators (SOON). Registration can be done with the /register
command in the room.
You can't register a room as a guest or if it has already been registered.
Room modes
Registered rooms have different settings called modes that the room's owner and moderators may change with the /mode
command.
Current modes:
m
: Only registered users allowed to talk in the channelr
: Only registered users allowed to join the channelt
: Topic may be changed by moderators or higher only
When using /mode
, use a +
sign to set a mode and a -
sign to unset it. Several modes may be set at once, e.g. /mode +mrt
.

What do you need my email for?
At the moment? Nothing, really. I'm sorry. It's only really used for your Gravatar.
The situation may change later. There are plans to require email confirmation for accounts in order to enable password resetting but it's not working yet.
What good does it do to connect accounts from other sites?
Again, not yet really anything. Soon™.
